Chikmagalur Resorts and My Serai weekend

Lots of folks asked me about my weekend at Serai and here's what I have to say. The property is lovely, very well done cottages/ villas in the middle of Coffee estates. My accommodation was called "Private Pool Villa". It had raised compound ensuring privacy, a swimming pool upto 4.5 ft deep and gazebo bed and reclining chairs.

Interiors of the cottage/ villa are furnished with wooden flooring and soothing pastel drapes and cushions. Bathrooms are well done too with separate areas for each closet. Except each closet has a glass door which means the cottages are couple only usage or for a family, "one person only at a time".

Restaurant has above average food and spreads buffet for breakfast/ lunch when the resort occupancy is above their minimum number.Blue Sky lounge is the name of the terrace lounge. They have a bare minimum choice with the wine selection or cocktails and serve no snacks.
*Note: The food from Odyssey restaurant which is otherwise covered in the resort package, is chargeable in Blue Sky lounge, which didn't make too much sense to me.

The resort belonging to Coffee Day group, activities planned by the resort include buggy ride around their coffee estate, cycling around the estate (which by the way is a large place with tracks) and other usual resort stuff like table tennis, snooker, carom ..

The resort on the whole is very well done and has a classy look and feel. Our package was 24,750/- rupees for 2N/3D with all meals included, which I would say is a very good deal.

I was happy they could arrange our stay with a 1-2 day notice. Contact www.theserai.in for reservations.
